On behalf of the 2017-2018 Executive Board, welcome to the Penn State University Economics Association (PSUEA). My name is Oga and I am the President for the 2017-2018 academic year. This year is particularly special, as the PSUEA was established in 1968 and we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary this year!

We hope to make this the best year yet by strengthening the programming and relationship with alumni, faculty, other organizations, recruiters, and most importantly, our members. At the end of the day, the PSUEA’s mission is to serve our members. We hope that this organization offers students a network within the larger Economics Department at Penn State.

Our mission is implemented via four major committees: Communications, Education, Finance, and Marketing, all working together to create a holistic experience. We offer leadership positions within each committee and allow our members to make the organization their own. We strongly encourage all to get involved, whether you are majoring, minoring, or just interested in economics.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about the PSUEA. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or the rest of the Executive Board. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting and hope you find a family here!

"A professional and academic organization devoted to supporting students with a passion for economics."

The Penn State Economics Association is a group of students with a passion for economics, who wish to grow both academically and personally outside the classroom. We seek to expand upon the regular classroom experience with academic presentations, written publications, economic simulations, and many other activities. We also help to prepare our members for after college by offering career fair prep, helping with resumés and bringing in companies to recruit. Finally we have fun social activities such as socials with other clubs, football tailgates and THON canning weekends.

The association provides various levels of leadership positions, and great flexibility in terms of planning and events. Ultimately members are able to make the association what they want it to be, and gain valuable experience along the way. Overall we seek to provide our members with an environment where they can meet people who share their interests, make new friends and succeed at Penn State and beyond.
