Meet the Leadership team
Victoria Phelps, President
Victoria is a senior majoring in Economics and Political Science with a minor in History. She joined PSUEA as a sophomore in the Fall of 2016 and has previously been a Business Education Associate, the Business Education Coordinator, and the Vice President of Education. Outside of the Economics Association, she is involved in the Schreyers Honors College Student Council, Scholar Advancement Team, Scholar mentorship program, Paterno Fellows, and the Lung Cancer Research Foundation. Following graduation, Victoria plans to go into sales and trading.
Nicole Trachman, Vice President of Communications
Nicole is a senior majoring in Economics with minors in Information Sciences and Technology and Security and Risk Analysis. Nicole joined PSUEA in the Fall of 2016 and previously served as the University Relations Coordinator. She is also involved in Delta Phi Epsilon and Lion Scouts. After graduation, she plans to work for the Federal Reserve Board and pursue a PhD in Economics.
Avery Ryan, Vice President of Education
Avery is sophomore majoring in Economics and Risk Management and has minors in Math and Statistics. She joined PSUEA as a freshman in the Fall of 2017 and has served as a Print Education Associate. Avery is also involved in Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Co-Ed Business Fraternity, Springfield Benefitting THON, and Nittany Consulting Group. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in risk consulting.
Evan Toomey, Vice President of Finance
Evan is a junior majoring in Economics and Finance. In the Fall of 2016, Evan joined PSUEA as a freshman and served as a Web Development Associate. He has also previously served as the Fundraising Coordinator. His other activities include serving on the Paterno Fellows Student Advisory Board and participating in the Beekeeper's Club on campus. After graduation, Evan plans to pursue a career in consulting and obtain an MBA.
courtney Hummel, vice president of outreach
Courtney is a senior majoring in Economics, International Politics, and Labor and Employment Relations. She joined the Association in the Fall semester of 2015 as a freshman and has previously served as the Alumni Relations Coordinator and the Vice President of Communications. Outside of PSUEA, Courtney is involved with the University Park Undergraduate Association (Penn State’s Student Government) where she serves as an At-Large Representative and sits on the Governmental Affairs Committee and Phi Alpha Delta, Pre-Law Fraternity. Following her undergraduate career, Courtney plans to pursue a J.D. and a Masters degree in International Affairs.
Alex kaminsky, vice president of research
Alex is a senior majoring in Economics and has minors in Business & Liberal Arts and Math. Alex joined PSUEA during the Fall 2016 semester and was previously the Mentoring and Member Relations Coordinator. She is also involved in Delta Phi Epsilon and the Women in Economics Society. Alex plans to attend graduate school for International Economics and pursue a career as an analyst in the public sector.
